Tactical Considerations Web Series: Ep. 5 - Fire Development Changes when a Fire Becomes Vent Limited
In Episode 5, check out UL's Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI) Director, Steve Kerber, as he focuses on how fire development changes when a fire becomes ventilation limited:
One of the first things every firefighter learns about fire is the fire triangle. Fire needs fuel, heat and oxygen to survive.
Fire growth is definitely related to the amount of fuel and heat that is available, but it is the amount of oxygen that is making the difference in how fast the fire is allowed to release heat. Control the oxygen, and you have control of the fire.
