Thomas DiPietro

Research Engineer

Thomas DiPietro is a research engineer with the Fire Safety Research Institute, part of UL Research Institutes. His work focuses on leading and supporting research projects that study firefighter health and safety. Thomas has been a volunteer firefighter since 2018, starting his service at the Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Company #1, and currently serves at the College Park Volunteer Fire Department Co. 12. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, with a concentration in aerospace engineering from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, and was an intern with FSRI his last summer before graduating in 2022. Thomas was also awarded an FSRI fellowship, where he earned his Master of Science degree in fire protection engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2024.
