S. Maxwell Marino

Engineering Technician

S. Maxwell Marino, an engineering technician at the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI), a division of UL Research Institutes, contributes to both bench and full-scale research. His responsibilities include fabrication and instrumentation, cone calorimetry, firefighting, and drone piloting, among other day-to-day duties. Before joining FSRI, he interned as a fire investigator in the private sector. Outside of work, Max serves as a stipend firefighter for Haddon Fire Company No. 1. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science with a concentration in Fire and Arson Investigation, a Minor in Criminal Justice, and a Master’s degree in Fire & Explosion Investigation from the University of New Haven. During his academic journey, he worked as a graduate assistant managing fire labs, lecturing, and developing curriculum.
